A known first rounder is essentially what most rentals go for. Teams know they will be late. This first has the potential to be better. I have no doubt that Vegas will still be decent a couple years from now. They could be a couple injuries away from missing the playoffs all together.
If Vegas can not sign Hanifin to a long term deal this deal quickly shifts to a big win for the Flames.
