Well said. I'm not a fan of the log either and I can imagine what happened behind closed doors that led to that - too many people peeing on the fire to see what it smells like.
What drives me more up the wall is when you have a real effective identity that is relatively simple and peopel claim they could have designe that. "Well it's just a swoosh - anyone could do that!".
