Very much doubt the Flames are getting a mid-round 1st rd pick for a 34 (to be 35) yr. old Markstrom this summer or anytime going forward, let alone another asset with significant offensive upside.
Just doesn't appear the Flames are committed to creating a contender and look to be again content being middle of the pack and brining in the odd first round playoff income for ownership.

The asset they want is a young top 6 center . There is no chance holtz could ever bring that back in a season or 2. Wingers won’t get you centres in trade.
