I think that if the Flames are seriously thinking they can get a good return for Markstrom down the line, and that's a move they'd like to be able to make, is another reason Vladar trade hasn't happened.
Keeping Vladar gives them the flexibility to more easily trade Markstrom (although not that would be impossible to trade both). I think seeing no move on Vladar makes me feel like it could mean they want to keep the flexibility on moving Marky.
