Hilarious that some are annoyed with Conroy, because NJ is making dumb moves. We are spinning ourselves around with false narratives to justify strange positions. Conroy has moved every player this year he should have. Every player with an expiring deal that value needed to be gained from. Every other player, like Markstrom and Mangiapane for example, do not need to be traded, and Conroy doesn't have to take the "best available offer", because he has a much larger horizon (a few seasons) to maximize value for those assets. He shouldn't move any non expiring assets unless he is wowed by the return. Based on his body of work so far this year, I'm going to trust his judgement.
Many who are worried / frustrated by the lack of Markstrom move are doing so based on false burning platforms of:
- We need to move Markstrom to further improve our draft position this year
- Markstom actually sucks and will never have value again
- There will be no teams to trade with later.
All the above are just not facts, and honestly are pretty silly worries IMO.
