I think his songwriting is best when he's pissed off about something. I read before White Light came out that he had recently gotten married, and had a much more positive outlook on life. I know I sound like a prick when I say this but his music may have suffered because of it. He didn't seem to have a lot to say, and the album showed that. Whether it had anything to do with his personal life or not, I'm not sure.

But his marriage finished (on very bad terms) and he became a lot more cynical and angry in the posts on his website (much like his songwriting was when his career was at its best). Maybe that'll show through in the music as well. I don't know.

Either way, I like the sound of the new single.
His best albums:

1. The Audio of Being
2. Loser Anthems
3. Avalanche
4. Beautiful Midnight
5. Underdogs
6. Last of the Ghetto Astronauts
7. White Light Rock and Roll Review

WLRRR is my least favorite of his albums - it has a few decent tracks but it really does lack the emotion of his previous work. If you're interested, here's another new song off his album:

I was really worried this album was going to suck but I'm beginning to think it could be pretty good, the new song has really grown on me.
