It surely wasn’t “retention” that was originally reported as being the issue because both yourself and Sec confirmed and validated by the current trades that eating salary isn’t an issue.
That leaves meddling or Markstrom blocking it and he seemed pretty clear someone up top jerked him around.

There's lots of talk that it was the return for that retention that was a stumbling block. In other words, they couldn't agree on price.
Sometimes deals just fall apart because the two sides can't agree to the final terms.
Conroy said the issue was about communication. So Markstrom thought there was a deal, but it hadn't been finalized. It's not complicated.
