We don't know the circumstances, we do know that in the past the Flames has a tendency to let players walk. Where would this team be if we had gotten a first for Brodie and Gaudreau. We got nothing for them yet some are rambling about Conroy not getting a kings ransom. If we look at the whole body of work, he did better than a lot of people expected while trying to navigate a number of challenges. He couldn't sign a player who had limited destinations which was more hampered by teams that didn't have a first to offer. He still had to negotiate with these teams while they had a leg up They got a player they wanted and a first, let's look at his whole body of work and cut Conroy some slack. Treliving never got roasted this much for letting guys walk.
