But for the reasons I'm gathering people walking out of PT for, it definitely is an indictment in my mind too.
I don't know what people expect when they watch the trailer and look at the advertising for the film, or have even a vague knowledge of the director and his past work.
I don't know why middle aged adults would approach a movie like this with the sensitivity of a mormon grandmother. It's not your first time at the rodeo, and we all know you've looked at worse on your computer.

I don't think any of the trailers really revealed much of the story at all. I had no idea what it was about going in, just that I like Stone and the visuals looked interesting. Again, other people just have different sensibilities. You might watch porn, but maybe aren't comfortable with watching it with a room full of people, or maybe even family members or friends you went to see it with.
Personally, what made me uneasiest wasn't the nudity itself, but that we were basically watching some form of pedophilia...maybe? I think that feeling was part of the point of the whole movie (particularly the beginning). I can see why some people might not want to sit in that feeling.
Also some people just don't have the imagination to enjoy films like that. They can't get past the bubble burps and boobies to enjoy something a bit more subversive than what they tend to intake. I couldn't convince my dad that Everything Everywhere All At Once was a good movie. He just can't see through absurdity.
But yeah I don't really get leaving a theatre. You paid (a lot) have your popcorn etc...sitting there, went to the theatre, you might as well get through the whole thing so you can see where it goes?
