After this trade, that's exactly what he got: 15 assets. He also made a couple of sneaky good waiver acquisitions. I don't consider that bad for his first year's work.

True. The team is in a better position now than it was at this time last year. It was so easy to get caught up in the speculation and expect more from the trades but it really wasn't realistic to come away with 3 1sts in each of the next few years, a young 24 year old (or younger) stud center, a young future goal scoring machine winger, and a young future #1 defenseman, plus other future key prospects that will all score 30 goals one year.
