No. I liked the Toffoli return, but I do find this trade to be a bit weak. I would have obviously preferred it if the Flames also got a prospect.
Here's how I felt about the trades:
Toffoli: I really liked the trade and love it now
Zadorov: I've warmed up to it, but was not a fan at first (mostly due to the 3rd being in 2026)
Lindholm: I love the return
Tanev: I like what Conroy did and I love the style of defender the Flames got
Hanifin: I hoped the return would be a 1st, good prospect, conditional 3rd or 4th, and player (for cap purposes)
It's okay for people to be a bit disappointed and it's silly that many in here are trying to police how everyone should feel (not saying you are). I'm sure posters who disliked the Iginla trade at first were also told the return was fine. This could work out, but most media and most people that are not Flames fans are in agreement that Vegas won this trade at first glance. Also, this trade does not sour me on Conroy at all. I think he has been a wonderful GM so far and is taking this team in the direction it needs.
I'm not going to judge or tell people who like this trade that they should be angry. Everyone had their own expectations, and some of those like my own were probably too high. I guess I'm now cheering for Tanev to win the west and Hanifin to win a round haha.
