I think the following are clear to me:
1. Conroy got the best deal he could. Common sense dictates that.
2. Posters are disappointed with the return. You just need to read the expectations in the last few weeks to see that.
3. We have zero idea of the market. It can change from year to year since it is based solely on supply and demand, which varies greatly from year to year. In fact it can readily change day to day as needs get supplied.
4. Hanifin may have been overrated by us. We have no real idea what other GM’s in need thought of him. Or maybe know we do.
5. I don’t believe the agent made any difference. Hanifin was basically a rental like most UFA’s. He was valued as such.
6. Posters generally have exaggerated views on what returns are going to be. Just read through the threads. Stankoven for Tanev? Premium prospects are seldom if never in play. I think it’s based more on wishful thinking than actual belief. And that’s OK.
7. We got what most of us wanted, a true rebuild.
