No way the Flames are big game hunting for high end players that they would trade a 1st rounder for by 2026.
Even if that is a decent mid round pick in 2026, that player isn't helping the Flames till 2030. This piece really may not help a retool/rebuild to be competitive for the new arena and that makes this a huge loss in my eyes. If Miromanov doesn't at least turn out to be a 5/6 guy, that's a lot of nothing for Hanifin before 2027. The hype on him feels Feaster-esque.
I'm starting to think that we're in for a very long rebuild. Tough to spin it, this trade was an L, pending some amazing developments.

Maybe that's the best deal. Hanifin isn't that good and this is a rental price. Should have traded him this time last year.
