Yeah either this whole narrative about them "making it hard" is an exaggeration because Hanifin telling teams he won't re-sign isn't abnormal from a pending UFA, and there should still be a market for him as a pure rental.

But if he's doing something else (threatening to not report?) then that would be bush league by his agent. But also the only way that Steinberg saying that Hanifin's camp have somehow vetoed deals would make sense.

Who knows what one it actually is...hopefully just the former.

My gut is Hanifin wants the Panthers or Bruins, Flames are willing to move him there for the right deal, and all this Tampa Bay talk are leaks from his agent trying to put pressure on Boston and Florida to not lose him to a team they could play in round 1.

But if it doesn't happen by Friday he will just get moved to the best package they have without an extension agreed upon.
