That's why you put draft deferral to 2027, if Tampa has a high pick or wins lottery, Calgary gets their 2027 1st round pick, gives some power back to Tampa, but at least Calgary gets a 1 st round pick, and could be high in either year, depending on how Tampa performs, otherwise walk away and trade him as a rental, even if it means a little less of a return

Either way, the only way a trade happens with Tampa Bay, a 1 st round pick has to be coming back to Calgary
