I have heard stories too (I'm in oil and gas) and I imagine many of them are true.

But there is also a hyper over reaction to the topic that has people ignoring the Flames spending to the cap, buying players out, retaining on Tanev, etc.

Do you have a story where he meddled with a Flames trade? If so bring it up.

Personally I'm not defending Edwards. It's just been a long week of insiders guessing at what's going on and then proven wrong pretty quickly. Yet people just lap it up.
There is this one about the zucker trade. He didn't say no to it. Just couldn't be reached for approval which i get. It's probably best Mur was out of reach that day.

Zucker was under the impression it was the Flames he was supposed to be traded to.

The Athletic and TSN confirmed soon after the Feb. 25 deadline that Fenton and Flames GM Brad Treliving had been on the phone right up until the 2 p.m. deadline, but no trade was ever consummated and no trade call to Central Registry was made. It’s unclear exactly why the trade fell apart, but the Wild were told the Flames couldn’t get official approval in time from owner Murray Edwards, who was out of the country.

It’s believed the trade would have been for Michael Frolik and a first-round pick. It makes sense the Flames would need approval because Frolik had only one year left on his deal at $4.3 million and Zucker had signed a five-year, $27.5 million contract the previous summer.
