Flames get some traction with Jersey, don't want to dick around with Fitz so they go to Markstrom. He goes home and talks it over and gives his blessing. Deal falls through (as they often do), and he's choked because he had already resigned himself to the fact he was leaving.
Lashes out at the guys above for not getting the deal done that he thought was finished.
Understandable from a human perspective.
But also understandable from a GM trade perspective. You can't wait until you have a deal with Jersey to approach Markstrom.
