EDIT: Storm damage has been increasing, despite the decreasing number of storms, due principally to the skyrocketing number of idiots who build McMansions in hurricane country and expect their insurance to bail them out. My sympathy for such people is sharply limited.

As I said, ignorance is bliss and a single article in the face of a growing volume of research that suggest otherwise isn't going to change that. This thread also isn't going to solve the slow crawl to disaster, so if you feel better with that narrative, god speed.

Hanifin getting 8x8 in any city is going to make him immune to the real world consequences regular folks will have to deal with so it's not even going to be on his radar.
