Fair enough but I’d bet the Flames have and will discuss this. If they do choose to draft him, they’re probably pretty confident Tij will be able to handle the ‘Iginla’ factor in this town. Truthfully, no matter what team he goes to, he’s going to have to deal with that to some degree.
That said, from the looks of things the Flames are going to have a few options, maybe quite a few options depending how these last 20-ish games go. The draft seems to have a number of good D available. Although the Flames have done a good job replenishing the cupboard recently, Morin, Brutz,Grushnikov, I still think if the Flames can snag a guy who has a chance to be a 1D, that might be too good to pass up. Yakemchuk has to be appealing. 6’4” RHS with plenty of offense and has been ranked as high as 6 from what I’ve seen. Also listened to a podcast a couple months ago where they said Caden Lindstrom might be one to keep your eyes on. They specifically mentioned Jarome Iginla scouting him quite a bit.
At the end of the day, I’d like to see the Flames with a top 10 pick so they have chance to grab one of these guys.
