I suppose if you want machines, it’s a different story. But if you are using free weights, you can do this cheaper for sure. And of course, if you only buy new, then the price is much higher.

People getting those 7 in 1 workout machines will easily push 10K.
If you're sniping the basic components (dumbells, plates, bars, rack, bench, bands), maybe buy a few items off of friends or secondhand as well as online, you can get what you need for well under that mark.
Blowing several thousand on a machine that allows for one or a couple pull exercises seems wasteful to me, even though machines are nice. Most are meant for an actual gym.
Decathalon even carries gym steppers for 100-200, I believe. There are loads of good deals for versatile equipment out there.
You don't have to stroll into sport chek or call up bowflex and ask for home gym options only to get hosed on the money side for equipment that takes up too much space.
Also do your research. A lot of machine exercises can be replicated with dumbbells or bands. If you're going to be dedicated enough to make a difference in your form and strength, then it won't be too much work to figure out.
