The Flames need to capitalize on his value right now because it simply will never be higher. If you can get more than a 1st round pick for an asset you thought had negative value 12 months ago, you have to do it. It is unlikely they get anything close to that in the offseason and beyond.
Finishing 20th overall in the league is not that different from finishing 25th.

It just has to happen. It's too damn logical to trade Markstrom at this point.
Wolf and Vladdy are here, and Conroy is all about clearing space for younger players and trying to correct the deficit spending that Treliving ran for so many years...trading Markstrom is such a slam dunk "W" in my eyes.
