Yeah, there is no reason to think that he didn't take the same approach as with the Lindholm deal. Dallas probably made the best offer to date and said they needed a decision because they had a plan B in place. Conroy would have then went back to the other teams and said make your best offers now. If there was a 1st on the table, he probably would have taken it. Insider reports up until now said Conroy was holding out for a 1st, but no one was offering one.
Maybe if he waited until closer to the deadline, a team would have capitulated and offered a 1st, or maybe you end up with a 3rd. Or maybe a Cammalleri situation.
Keeping in mind Iginla only got back a late 1st and two C prospects, I think Tanev for a 2nd and B prospect is pretty good.
