When Kylington fell on him in Game 6 vs Dallas, and he buggered up his arm and shoulder (dislocated and torn labrum) it was a huge blow to the team and basically, in hindsight, blew the series against the Oilers, as he missed the first 3 games and the Flames got the yips as far as team defense.
He didn't return until Game 4 as half the player he was, but the panic that Andersson, Hanifin, and Markstrom had in those first three games vs the Oilers, set the table for the rest of the series. Game 3 especially, when there were 6 odd man rushes in the second and the Oilers scored on 4 of them, wouldnt have likely happened with Tanev around back there, even if not on the ice.
He will be missed. Sign him in the summer?
