Meh, that's just Boomer speculating. Which is fair, we all do it. He made the disclaimer that he isn't an insider.
I don't know if I necessarily buy the notion that the Flames went back to Hanifin a couple of time to re-sign him because the offers coming in are underwhelming. I think they likely went back to him a couple of times because they think he is a good player that they want to keep and maybe Hanifin left the door open a bit to make them think it was a possibility.
