Tanev fits almost every team that needs a stabilizing presence on one of the top 2 pairs. I also think that a good fit for Tanev is a team that is struggling on the PK. Ranking teams based on PK%, these are the teams that could - at least based on stats alone - really use Tanev:
24 - Toronto - 77.1%
23 - Winnipeg - 77.2%
19 - Vancouver - 79%
18 - New Jersey - 79.1% (probably a combo of goalie and injuries to defence)
Calgtary is 5th at 82.8%.
Some of these teams might have already fixed their PK, but maybe some other teams are having problems and just haven't made it to the bottom yet. Point is, Tanev is one of the league's best Pk'ers/shot-blockers, and if a team is struggling in that department, that's another hole in your organization that you can patch up before playoffs start. Whatever team has a weak top 4 pairing while also having PK issues? Tanev is the best fit you can find, period.
