Australia has a minimum wage of $23 average McDonald's worker wage is near or over $24/hr. So over $20 cad, with 4 weeks of vacation, big macs are cheaper.

Canada : 5.56
Higher base pay but also higher income tax and consumption tax. At the end of the day what is the difference in terms of purchasing power? Making more money is great when it doesn't end up in the government's pocket.
