And then maybe you add Buffalo, Carolina, Colorado, Edmonton, and Ottawa to the mix. But I think some of those teams won't have

I don't know I really feel like the Flames had a bit of a perfect storm here with New Jersey and Brodeur really valuing Markstrom, and I do think insisting on Mercer as the return could end up being a mistake.

If they passed on Holtz+ trying to squeeze out Mercer it feels like a huge miscalculation.
I guess it just means they really don't have a strong appetite to move Markstrom if holtz+ is an offer they could resist.
It's been said again and again, we might as well believe it.
This team is focused on getting younger but also strongly prioritizing remaining competitive.
I hope this mindset doesn't hinder our future too drastically.
