He was absolutely one of the elite goaltenders in the NHL before Glue Gun tried to destroy his career. Pulling him after one goal 5 minutes in was cruelty that defies explanation. If he's on that short of a leash, just start Johnson.

I hated the trade from the get go. Elliott was never an elite netminder and always a tandem starter. He had great numbers the year before but not over a large sample size.
He was a risk to acquire because he was never a true number 1 and he proved that with his average to poor season in Calgary.
