Clearly you have minimal understanding & appreciation for how confidence and coaching work.
Going negative is always available. It’s like the euphemism:
“Any idiot can knock down a barn, but only a skilled carpenter can build one.”
Getting Huberdeau’s play back to the level of his contract isn’t going to happen by dwelling on previous poor performances and looking backwards. They are done. They are gone & in the past.
Letting them go is the starting point. Try it.
As long as he is contributing, being a good teammate, and enjoys helping and mentoring young players, he’s a massive asset to the team.
If he rediscovers his previous game during the reset, that’s a bonus.
