Huberdeau has been playing at an 80-point pace for nearly 2 months. If that stays consistent, he is easily an $8 million player minimum. And that pace is much more in-line with his career totals versus the first 110 games with the Flames.

From that, Huberdeau would be 1.5 - 2 million overpaid at most. He also seems like a great mentor to the younger guys (Pelletier is a notable example). To think that's the worst contract in the entire NHL and stand by it is admonishingly stupid.
