The wheels are coming off of the Oilers and its the same old chest nut.
The Oilers fire a coach, and bring in a new one. Leon and McDavid change their ways for a while and start checking. Then after a while they remember that this is their team and start playing their own version of the Oilyaz way and start giving up on defensive plays and flying to the neutral zone while their team is defending because with those two knuckle heads its all about them. They inform the new coach that his job is to make sure the bench hinges are oiled and to shaddup and let them do what they want.
The Oilers during the illusion riddled 16 game winning streak against mainly weak assed teams with backup goalies the Oilers played better defensively. Now they're back to the tire fire in their own system and Skinner is starting to fall apart.
Are they going to fire another coach when panic sets in and they slide out of the wild card race?
I wonder, Holland is retiring at the end of the year, are we going to see panic win now moves at the deadline where they give up massive pieces of the future that they don't have with their weak prospect pool and future busts like Boingberg and Holloway and first round picks to get that shiny bobble for one more year of Leon?
I hope so, this Oilers team doesn't like tough games, they were lucky with Boston, they looked like hot garbage for most of last nights game because they don't like competitive games.
Stanley Cup contender my shiny metal ass.
