That should say everything that needs to be said about markstrom and the Flames. They're not a playoff with him having the kind of season he is having. That's a core issue.
He's falsely inflating the quality of the roster in general with his play. While at the same time proving his worth at the contract value he has right now. Asking to retain 2 or 3 million makes his value spike. Even if your do a risk/reward analysis the reward is greater than the risk right now.
Flames don't need to move him but they should given everything else going on.
