Maybe Nashville hasn't really shopped Saros and he tells them he doesn't want to re-sign after all and he is available for a cheaper cost. One of the Boston goalies could become available. It could also be as simple as the Flames and Devils will never agree to a trade with significant retention and the offseason gets them there without needing it.
