I remember coming back to Canada after a trip to Europe, I can't remember the airline, but it was one of the funniest and craziest travel experiences I've ever had.
We're taking off from Gatwick and, you know, you do the usual boarding procedure, etc. and it takes forever and its a pain, blah, blah, blah.
It was one of those 'Economy Airlines' too and I get seated next to a British Soldier. His wife and kids are together in the middle aisle and we're on the side, super nice guy, he did his training here in Canada, made friends and was coming back to visit them and go to the Stampede.
Anyways, as we all know boarding takes ages...until...
"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your Captain speaking. Stow everything, sit DOWN and get your seatbelts on NOW!"
I think...huh, thats pretty aggressive. The attendants did the fastest, most slap-dash safety lecture I've ever seen while the plane is moving to take off and while removing their vests and stuff...
So I'm thinking..."Okay...something is going down..."
We take off and once we're in the air...
"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your Captain speaking. Our airline has gone insolvent, if we hadnt taken off we'd all have been stuck here. We're on our way back to Calgary. Beer and food is on the house!"
It was wild. Like...I always say that the British drink like you're might take it away from them so London to Calgary next to a British Soldier and free beer? We. Got. Leathered.
The attendants did their jobs but not...strictly? It was like 'Rogue Air' it was awesome. Its the most fun flight I've ever been on.
It was "do what you want, take what you want, we dont care...we dont even really 'work here' anymore."
It was an experience. And nobody was mean or rude or belligerent or anything. It was great!

I'd have to guess that was Zoom, with the baby blue 767's.
