Takes an errant puck to the nose. Goes down, it's run time we're down a goal. Burns half the remaining time getting off the ice, going back to the bench.
Sucks he got hurt, glad he was ok for the handshake line, but put on a f-ing cage man! I pay money for my icetime, and you're a straight MORON for not wearing one in crappy beer league. An inch lower and you're in for a grand of dental reconstruction.
Could equally argue they should stop the clock with injury, but the league rules are what they are.

the worst i've seen in beer league was when one of the d-men on my team bombed a slapshot from the point. a guy on the other team put his stick out in front of himself and the puck went straight up his stick and caught him in the mouth. the guy dropped immediately and guys from both teams and the refs went to help him. they got him off the ice but we had to get the rink rats out to scrape all the blood off the ice (there was lots). from my crease i could see him going to the change room holding his face with a river of blood flowing from his hands. i contacted the captain of the other team a few days later asking how his guy was doing... he was ok, but lost 7 teeth!!!
moral of the store - wear a cage!
as for the clock still running... i used to also score keep and it was made very clear the the clock couldn't stop. it basically came down to the fact that the game has to be over by a certain time so that the ice could be cleaned and the next game could start on time. i remember one night there was an incident when a guy had a heart attack while playing. 911 was called immediately and fire/ehs were at the rink in about 5 minutes. they worked on the guy forever before taking him out to the ambulance. the two teams that were playing both just went to their change rooms and didn't finish the game (understandably) - but what if the game clock was stopped and it delayed all the remaining games by 45 minutes? you show up to play your 11pm game to find out you are not on the ice until 11:45pm - that would suck.
