I can see why he'd go there if a big 6 job wasn't on offer. They've lost their 4 best players to injury for a ton of time this season with Eze, Olise, Guehi and Doucoure all out right now but that's not a relegation fight level squad with the calibre of players in their side and when they do move on to bigger clubs Palace will be flush with cash and Glasner will be able to build out the squad the way he likes.
If they can get some of the injured players back and survive the season, the new stand they are starting this summer that will boost their capacity up to 35k and add a ton of corporate facilities/revenue will put them solidly in that second tier of premier league clubs. Also have a brand new expensive academy in probably best talent catchment in england. I think a good manager could make some waves there.
