Staggering the 1st round picks across multiple drafts is a great strategy. Especially from teams that are doing great this year. This league is so up and down and you never know what can happens with injuries etc.
Also gives you an asset to use to get players into the lineup. You never know what player becomes available. Like say a Jack Eichel, now if have more ammo to go after someone.
