To me that's a sensible way to tier. There should be VERY few generational players, and instead the term that should be used is franchise.

I don’t know about that. Without McDavid the Oilers are probably a 35 win team.
I think the ranking is based off just talent.
Makar is a generational talent as well. The speed, skating, and offensive ability without being a defensive liability is nuts.
