I fear that the Flames might have too loose of lips here. I appreciate all the inside info and think it is legit and also don’t fault posters for sharing it. I just fear it all lead to deals falling through and players not wanting to come here.

This happens all the time with trades. It is not unique to the Flames. In fact, historically the Flames have been pretty tight lipped about this - my guess is it came from NJ as a negotiating tactic.
