I think one thing that helps players play well is having confidence, or positive feelings. Markstrom is somebody the guys know, and somebody some guys look up to. They don't know if their buddy's going to be there playing that day or the leaving next..., suddenly doubts are creeping in because they don't know if the team is throwing in the towel, or going for the playoffs. New guys are coming in, friends are possibly leaving. Then you have fans blaming it on the coach, the goalie, the PP. I think Calgary's got some really smart educated fans, but then there's some who complain about everything and not taking anything reasonable into consideration.
You the fans asked for this, you asked for the guys to be traded, you asked the general manager to do something, you asked for Wolf to come up and play right away (,whether he was ready or not.) Then some of you turn around and complain about all of those things... Let's lower our expectations, back off and give the organization coaches time to accommodate work through some of these changes.
Some people clamored for a rebuild or retool, so let's stop whining about it and enjoy the wins when we get them. You all know this already, some things are going to get worse before they get better, so let's collectively stop complaining about it.
