Default Nords Make Two Deals

The first deal of the day saw Martin Skoula to rival Tampa Bay for Kyle Calder.

"We needed more help up front. D is hard to come by, but we wanted Calder more than Skoula heading into next season." stated GM Prottotype.

The second one almost became a head bashing against the wall exercise until there was a breakthrough in the negotiations.

Heading to the Chicago Blackhawks is goaltenders Johan Holmqvist and Kevin Nastiuk, and defenseman Brett Carson.

Coming back to the Nordique are forwards Ales Kotalik and goalie Mike Smith.

"We were impressed with Mike Smith in the NHL this season, with the Stars ability to pump out goalies over the last decade. Kotalik is a big favourite of mine, and I'm pleased to bring him back to play on our 2nd line."

This now leaves the Nords hurting in the defensive department, but the forwards look stellar.

Shannahan - Wellwood - ?
Calder - Lang - Kotalik
Afenosenkov - Lindros - Branko
? - Beech - Tootoo

Zhitnik - ?

Seidenberg - ?
