I know he was coming off an amazing season but he is still a very slight player and if any of that shiftiness that has defined his play starts to fade it could be an anchor of a contract. It is a controversial opinion but long term I think it is good for the Flames that Gaudreau left. His performance has only been marginally better than that of Huberdeau and having two 30+ year olds making 9-10 million plus for 5 more years could have been very ugly.

Actually agree with the first half of this, but if Gaudreau signs I don't think we see the big Huberdeau extension.
