But we don't know any of that. He may be happy to chase a cup. He does not have to waive to go just anywhere, he gets to choose and if he thinks he can put that team over the top, maybe he waives. We don't know his thoughts at all and why would they be different in the summer than now?
I would think a player that knows there is a very long chance of winning here now or in the next two years would want to chase. Particularly a top 5 goalie, when goalies have an outsized influence in the outcome of playoffs.
Dance when the pot is hot is not a saying but it applies now. Teams are desperate and he just earned the #1 star of the week. Things don't get hotter than right now. That is overpay territory.
