Negotiation is always an ongoing process, and feels like Conroy is really understanding that. And he's made some trades now so teams will have to know it's not a bluff...make your best deal or match the other offers on the table or the player is gone.
I think the Tanev deal will be interesting...because once the first team folds and offers a first...what happens when Conroy brings that back to the other teams.
Edit: He said the same thing on barnburner and IMO was even more clear that he shopped the offer back to other teams.

It is good he did that. Asking if that is their best offer is only professional and great as long as he doesn't return to Vancouver more than once, don't keep calling back and forth, give Van a chance to up their offer and if they don't then say thanks and accept the other offer.
Flames need to set their price and don't waiver. If Van says Kuz, 1st and 4th say no thanks and let Van call back when they are ready to offer more. In business I hated dealing with guys who kept coming back more than once, show me your best offer and lets get on with it.
