Negotiation is always an ongoing process, and feels like Conroy is really understanding that. And he's made some trades now so teams will have to know it's not a bluff...make your best deal or match the other offers on the table or the player is gone.
I think the Tanev deal will be interesting...because once the first team folds and offers a first...what happens when Conroy brings that back to the other teams.
Edit: He said the same thing on barnburner and IMO was even more clear that he shopped the offer back to other teams.

I think its the Phanuef deal he talked about that made him really think about things. He even kind of said that we received garbage back without saying it, but he sounded like a guy who has been taking notes from everyone.

Seems like a guy who is dialed in and knows what he wants from each deal, and wont just settle.
