Environment Minister isn't wrong though. EV's just give people a false sense of a social license to put more cars on the road because 'green'. And it does nothing to solve the weight issues of these vehicles, which are still significantly larger vehicles on the roads now than they were 40 years ago. Sure as hell doesn't solve traffic congestion either.

I live in Toronto. There's tons of EVs out here (far more than Alberta per capita for sure), and to be honest I think most reasonable people here would probably agree it's not a silver bullet solution. But that isn't going to prevent Ontarians from buying EVs.

Ask the GTA suburbs what they want more - new highways and cars (which there is huge resistance to the development of the 413), or better service from GO and Metrolinx via train service.
