Lot of goalies/players go through things lke new teams, changes on teams, have gone through covid years as well, etc No excuses.

The previous two seasons (Covid + right after Covid) have been the highest scoring since 1993-94. (3.14 and 3.18 goals per game)
It’s getting harder and harder to play the position.
Markstrom is reliably a very good goalie, who puts up very good numbers on frequently awful teams. This year is no exception.
Adin Hill, Darcy Keumper, Jordan Binnington, Matt Murray - they’ve all won Stanley Cups - Markstrom is at least as capable as any of those guys.
All for a minimal commitment in terms of years and real dollars.
