It seems wild to me that most everyone that was part of the discussion agreed that some sort of physical altercation was required (though most agreed the cross check was too much), despite a legal play happening on the ice. The only "bad" part was the speed of the shot into the empty net - that's what necessitates violence??

It’s just faux machismo that is fully engrained into the sport in Canada. It’s “disrespect”, and deserves pain! Lots of pain!
