Halogens burned out really frequently, got super hot, and the glass cover would detach and shatter on the floor every once in a while, and flipping on and off the switch for the garage fluorescents in winter until they came on was a PITA.
I do wonder if there is a dome cover for the clusters that traps less heat but doesn’t look like crap.

Oh man we've got some halogen pot lights that are sooooo annoying. It never really occurred to me to just replace the fixtures until this moment. Which seems like an annoying job and will slot too far down my to do list, but probably better than living in half darkness (just the mud/laundry room) and procrastinating on replacing a few at a time only to be in half darkness again within weeks.
