Jumping him after? Yeah...thats coming.
Cross-check to the head? Way, way too far.
You want to mug him in the corner or drop the gloves and take your 5 and a game, thats fine. Relatively harmless.
But ambushing him with your stick to the mind is not.

I think the NHL in general needs to get rid of guys “jumping” someone for non-penalties. It’s stupid and makes everyone who does it look like a dumbass.
Guy show boats? OK. Play better. Run up the score next game, do something “hockey” and not try to drop the gloves because someone shot a puck a wittle too hawd at youw spesuw net. Same with clean hits. Don’t be a baby and jump guys every time they lay a clean hit, hit back.
At least running the goalie or blowing up a star player I can understand. I get it. “It’s our job to protect _____ so we can’t let him get away with it!” Sure.
But if Rielly wanted to protect his previous empty net from someone scoring on it with a slap shot maybe he should have been a better defenceman. I don’t think we gain anything as fans by just accepting that Greig gets jumped for that. We look as stupid as Rielly.
